Macquarie River Food and Fibre supports the Watersmart Expo series in Narromine, NSW. The Watersmart Expo, designed to support and encourage a commitment to efficient water use across all sectors of the Central West catchment community, is a joint initiative of the Central West Catchment Management Authority, Narromine Shire Council and Macquarie River Food and Fibre.

With a mix of seminars, exhibits and field trips, the Watersmart Expo attracts:

  • Irrigation farmers from across NSW
  • Water conscious members of the community across the catchment
  • Commercial users
  • Water trade (exhibitors)
  • Local Government staff
  • Water efficiency researchers
  • Federal and NSW agency staff
  • School Children

The first Watersmart Expo was held in Narromine in 2008 with a 2009 event held to cement the Expo as a flagship event. It is envisaged that following the 2009 event, the Watersmart Expo will be a biennial event.
